Reducing Sharing Friction to Enable Creator Growth
SuperProfile enables creators to build and sell digital products and services. However, while creation tools were strong, the platform lacked built-in distribution infrastructure. Creators were expected to independently promote their products across social platforms, resulting in low activation, weak traction, and poor attribution. This project focused on designing a foundational sharing system that enabled creators to publish platform-optimized posts directly from SuperProfile, with reliable tracking and attribution.
Problem Context
(Sources: Product analytics, support tickets, creator interviews)
Distribution Friction:
Creators frequently failed to promote their products externally due to:
-
Uncertainty about what to share on each platform
-
Fear of appearing unprofessional
-
Context switching between multiple tools
Low Activation and Expansion:
Limited sharing capability prevented creators from generating momentum as:

-
Early traffic was difficult to generate
-
Lack of initial traction reduced perceived value
-
Paid features were underutilized
As a result, many published products never received meaningful exposure. This created a weak activation loop:
Publish
No sharing
No Traffic
Low Validation
Drop - Off
Business Impact
The absence of integrated distribution resulted in:

-
Lower creator success and monetization
-
Missed organic acquisition opportunities
-
Reduced retention
-
Weak cross-product activation
-
Limited attribution of growth to platform features
Without a reliable sharing system, even high-quality products struggled to succeed.

The new flow reduced cognitive load, preserved creator momentum, and enabled faster validation of their products through measurable visibility and traction
Previous Flow

Product listing page
Once a product was published, the user saw a published product list with a button to share for each published product.
Once the user clicked 'Share', a modal with social media platform selection, along with a product link that can be copied and shared was shown.

Share Modal
The existing flow relied on a generic “Share” button that opened a basic system-level sharing modal with platform icons and a product link. It provided no guidance on how to present the product, no preview of how posts would appear, and no support for writing platform-appropriate captions.
As a result, creators were forced to handle content creation, formatting, and optimization outside the platform, increasing cognitive load and reducing confidence. This led many users to either abandon sharing altogether or publish low-quality, inconsistent posts that failed to drive meaningful traction.
Redesiged Flow & Screens

Post Product Publish Modal
Once the user is done with the product publishing, we nudge the user to share the same across social media platforms. We communicate:
-
The process is easy and ready-made for the user.
-
Sharing leads to significant increase in sales & leads
-
They just need to review and post.
Once the user clicks “Continue Sharing,” a full-screen modal opens with a pre-drafted, platform-optimized caption and a product-specific template image.
The user can edit the caption as needed and preview how the post will appear on the selected social media platform.
This allows creators to review, refine, and validate their content within SuperProfile before publishing. Once satisfied, they can proceed to share directly on the chosen platform with confidence.

Other Modals

Account Auth. Setup
Before enabling direct publishing, users are guided through a clear account-connection flow that explains required permissions and data access.
This transparency reduces security concerns and minimizes unexpected interruptions during sharing.
After a successful post, users see a confirmation state with access to the shared link and options to continue sharing on other platforms.
This reinforces completion and encourages multi-platform distribution without restarting the flow.

Post-Sharing Confirmation

Sharing Analytics
Users can access a 'Sharing Analytics' option from the dashboard to receive a detailed PDF report via email.
The report highlights traffic, leads, and revenue generated through social sharing, enabling creators to measure real distribution impact.
The redesigned flow embedded sharing directly into the publishing journey through guided prompts, editable captions, live previews, and seamless account linking. This minimized initiation friction, kept creators in context, and ensured platform-native output without blocking publishing.
Each step was intentionally structured to protect publishing autonomy, and enable reliable tracking of outcomes. Rather than treating sharing as an add-on feature, it was redesigned as core growth infrastructure that connects creation, distribution, and measurable impact.
Outcomes
Following the launch of the integrated sharing system, early indicators showed positive movement across activation, engagement, and distribution.

Increased post-publish sharing behavior
Within the first month, 13% of published products were shared at least once within seven days, aligning with initial adoption targets.

Improved activation across creator apps

Creators who used the sharing feature showed a 16% higher likelihood of activating additional apps compared to non-sharing creators.

Multi-Platform Share Adoption
34% of creators who shared a product posted it on two or more platforms, indicating strong trust in the system and repeat usage.

Improved creator revenue attribution
The integrated sharing system enabled consistent tracking of purchases and leads from social posts, giving clear visibility into distribution-driven revenue.
Overall, the system established a measurable and repeatable distribution layer within the product, strengthening the connection between creation, promotion, and monetization.
